Christopher Cokinos wins a 2025 Utah Book Award

Professor Emeritus of English Christopher Cokinos won a 2025 Utah Book Award for his nonfiction book Still as Bright: An Illuminating History of the Moon from Antiquity to Tomorrow (New York: Pegasus Books, 2024). He co-won with Morgan Sjogren. Still as Bright garnered a starred Kirkus review, along with positive notices, tie-in pieces and excerpts in such venues as Esquire, Sky & Telescope, Orion, Lit Hub, the Los Angeles Times, Natural History and Booklist. A selection of the Planetary Society monthly book club, the book was picked by the Toronto Globe & Mail as one of the Best 100 Books of 2024 and by The Auraist as one of the Best Written Nonfiction Books of 2024.
