UPPER DIVISION
The Foundations Writing Program also offers upper division courses, both of which are foundational to effective written communication in higher education, the community, and workplace environments.
The Business and Technical Writing Curriculum offers two courses that prepare students for writing in diverse professional workplaces. Business Writing (English 307) introduces students to strategies for writing job application documents, business letters, reports, and proposals. Technical Writing (English 308) emphasizes writing that translates specialized subject matter to lay audiences within the framework of the User eXperience (UX).
Advanced Composition (English 306) picks up where English 102, 108, and 109 Honors leaves off, providing students with additional writing projects designed to prepare them for writing in both academic and community environments.
