Kirk Wisland has a B.A. in Studio Arts, University of Minnesota, an MFA in Creative Writing, University of Arizona, and is a PhD Candidate in Creative Writing, Ohio University. He is a two-time Pushcart Prize nominee in nonfiction, and in 2015 Roxane Gay selected his essay collection, "The Melancholy of Falling Men," as the winner of the Iron Horse Chapbook Prize. His nonfiction and fiction can be found in print and online across a variety of literary venues. He has presented on panels at the AWP and Nonfiction Now conferences, and will be a Fellow at the 2019 Desert Nights, Rising Stars Conference. He has taught and tutored in Composition and Creative Writing at the University of Arizona, Ohio University, San Jacinto College in Houston, and Santa Barbara City College.
