Spring semester 2025: Documentary Film Marketing & Distribution Internship: Researcher and Outreach Coordinator
Student intern needed to carry out research and outreach for feature documentary film Final Vows (finalvowsfilm.com). The intern will work with the director and producers of the film as they develop and execute nationwide and international distribution strategies. The intern will also sometimes interact with the New York-based distributor of the film, First Run Features. Internship will provide hands-on opportunities to gain knowledge, skills and experience in independent motion picture marketing and distribution.
Internship job description:
Refine existing database of diverse US and international university, college, and community entities and programs such as university centers for culture, media, gender & women’s studies, religion and more.
Determine best contacts at diverse entities (text and materials will be provided).
Communicate with those entities about the film and about potential screenings with the director appearing in person or via livestream (text and materials will be provided).
Follow up as needed, working with director/producers to develop entities' interest. Schedule screenings and manage screening logistics.
Research relevant US-based and international conferences and communicate with pertinent contacts regarding potential screenings. Maintain a database and records of all communication.

As work progresses, there may be as-yet-unknown distribution outlets to research and develop.
Unpaid/College Credit available
Part-time; flexible schedule; remote work with occasional in-person meetings.
