Terrain.org editor, poet and essayist Simmons Buntin will read on March 27 at 7 p.m. at the Poetry Center as the second reader in The Next American Nature and Science Writing, a series curated by Christopher Cokinos. Buntin is a graduate of Arizona's MFA program (2009, in nonfiction) and is a national presence in nature writing. He has won an Academy of American Poets Prize, Colorado Artist's Fellowship for Poetry, and grants from the Arizona Commission on the Arts and the Tucson-Pima Arts Council. His first book of poetry, Riverfall, was published in 2005 by Ireland's Salmon Poetry. His second book, Bloom, was published by Salmon Poetry in 2010. His book Unsprawl: Remixing Spaces as Places is forthcoming from Planetizen Press. He is the web program manager for the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management, where he's worked since 2004.
